Kris Allen born on June the 21st 1985 is an American singer-songwriter from Conway, Arkansas, and the winner of the eighth season of American Idol. Prior to Idol, he self-released a 2007 album entitled Brand New Shoes.
Allen’s Idol coronation song, “No Boundaries” and his version of “Heartless” both charted within the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. Allen’s post-Idol self-titled album was released on November 17, 2009, through Jive Records. The album debuted at #11 on the U.S. Billboard 200 shifting over 80,000 copies. The album’s lead single, “Live Like We’re Dying”, was released on September 21, 2009, and has so far peaked at #25 in the U.S.

Kris Allen and the way he arranges and sings his version of the songs just make me feel emotional in every way. I was crying after listening to “Falling Slowly”.
I wish he will come out with a CD right after AI, that one I can buy. It will be great to play in the car or during dinner nights with my friends. Kris has a huge amount of followers here. Win or no win, he will surely last forever in the international music scene.

Kris Allen—don’t let the haters make you doubt yourself. You absolutely deserved to win that competition. Your competitor was a little too perfect. You are raw and real and soulful, and the only one who moved me when you performed. Loved the emotion you put into “aint no sunshine”, and “falling slowly”. Also loved “renegade”, and the way you did “heartless” with no backing but your own acoustic guitar was just brilliant. With that song, less was definitely more. Please don’t change your vocals or ever allow yourself to sound too “trained” and “professional”. Imperfections are what sets you apart and makes you unique, and only adds soul to your performances. I was moved enough to vote for you, and I never bother with that sort of thing. I don’t even watch television (caught the recaps on youtube). So happy you won! Congrats and please always stay true to yourself!

As an Adam Lambert fan I feel he should have won and I feel he had gotten ripped off. Man! He commands the audience, sickish the Idol parameters, I feel it’s become a joke and feels devastating I don’t think I will ever watch the Idol again! its not a shocker that Kris won, actually they both deserves to win but it just a lot wanted Kris’ voice quality which it fits better with the song like Randy said…. Adam is a great performer and with a high voice but still the beauty of the voice America look for…. and i think Kris version of Heartless and Ain’t no sunshine is the best arrangement of a song these season still both upcoming albums of these artist should be watch for, it would be one of the best American Idol had discover….
