Dean-Anthony bradford skips out on his bills and takes advantage of good people all around the country in his quest for stardom!!!! if anyone has the misfortune of meeting Dean-Anthony you will immediately understand what i mean by undeserved pre-madonna outlook! he still owes me $1000.00 for making the bands t-shirts! His Band members are great and he doesnt even feed them!!! i was told by the band members that he only lets them eat about an apple and a 6″ subway a day!!
this guy and his operation are a COMPLETE joke. i applied to be a promoter for his band (before i knew what they sounded like) and dealt with his psychotic assistant Jenny Jen Jen Young, who, once I emailed telling her I quit, told me “i had flake vibes shaking my soul, and i’m never wrong” and TWEETED at me from the Bradford twitter account saying this: http://twitter.com/WeAreBradford/status/2667095688 …really?
I also had the pleasure of dealing with Dean-Anthony on the phone, during which he talked about himself for about 60 years. He is an idiot, and their little system is a BIG scam. Thankfully the only thing they owe me is 10$ for their crappy album instead of any sort of paycheck for work.

I got paid. And know for a fact that he offers contracts to everyone on his team. I’ve seen them, used to be my job to proof-read. Everyone wants something for nothing. Maybe you just did a bunch of nothing and expected something? =) Whatever. Get over it. He’s a failed American Idol contestant, who the hell are you? Doing a bunch of nothing, still, it seems.

@ryandalley… he also writes emails pretending to be other people… he uses aliases such as bryan, jen young, will holbrook esq, etc. in fact, i’d bet 500$ that you ARE HIM. i’ve seen his contracts as well. they’re nonsense. he uses the word ‘team’ a lot in emails. he thinks it makes other people think he has a staff of 100+ people. no joke.
@meg small claims papers have been filed, but his LA address was a fake. the police have been notified, but it’s more difficult than you’d think to get recompense if no felony has been committed. recording studios on the east and west coasts are also involved. and it WAS kind of like being held captive. we were threatened with being fired almost every day. it was very creepy and we all quit in chicago after only 5 gigs.
finally, this is not simply griping. this is a warning to other people not to get involved.
i can’t get my $ or time back, but i can at least tell people the truth of what happened to me. hopefully, he’ll read this and send me a check. trust me, if you’ve worked with the guy you’d understand the well earned negative feedback. call it internet karma.
@Bradfordblows Thanks for the warning, man. I was about to get involved with those folks (perhaps more accurately “that dude.”) I had a pretty long email correspondence with “Bryan” in which he refused to send me a contract until I had already done work. The whole operation is so fucked. You ought to file a complaint on ripoffreport.com, it’s a much more public venue & will be easier to for people doing research to find.

now that it’s been mentioned; I definitely think the assumptions (or maybe they’re more than assumptions) about him using aliases are totally spot on. In my initial emails with “jenny jen jen” the wording she used is so similar to the way dean-anthony writes, right down to the word “farking.” i searched for this person before, using her email and name and anything i knew about her, and she doesn’t exist ANYWHERE else on the internet except for another ranting post.

He is a liar, cheat,and will take everything from you if he can. Honesty, his family or someone that cares about him needs to step in and get him some help. I knew the guy for years until I just had to break the line off.

How fucking bizzare. This dick has tried to pull the same scams for years in San Diego as well. He’s a complete egomaniac and pathological liar. He also has horrible, I mean horrible, personal hygiene, hates his own blackness, and is a complete closet case. He likes to suck dick, but claims he dates Natalie Portman.
Is he still running this scam? I applied to be a promoter about a year ago, got the list of phone numbers (his “contacts” in the radio biz) and after a few calls, it was clear the list was about five to ten years out of date, but I got through the list in four hours or so. I’m surprised he shilled out the money for it. I figured out the next day he had no intention of paying me. I called him out about the list, and he launched into the strangest phone rant I’ve ever heard (second strangest now that the Mel Gibson thing has been released). I google him every few months to see how things are for him (I was sad that the vandalism was gone from his myspace when I checked it today)
I simply asked him if he had any revenue coming in (I figured if he had a steady day job, there was a higher likelihood of getting paid than if he was living off a trust fund or something). His response began with a simple denial, but the more bullshit I smelled, the less his responses had to do with my questions, to the point where they didn’t even have anything to do with reality.
I think the last thing he said on the phone was that Venessa Williams had warned him about people like me while they were sitting by the pool writing their screenplay.
It was like watching that youtube video where they take the snapshots of paintings done by a person with schizophrenia, where they start out as paintings of cats and end up as random geometric patterns.
I feel pretty lucky that I smelled the BS fairly quickly and didn’t lose any money (and only a few hours), and I am sad that there are so many people who did lose money to him. I really hope he’s not still running this scam.
I’m not really Vanessa Williams, but DAB did meet her long ago. What she has to say about him would sound very familiar to you guys. Lots of promises, falls short on the delivery.

Funny thing is this guy is such an epic fail that he could almost get fifteen minutes of fame. It’s hard to picture somebody else in L.A., as bad as it is, being as outlandishly crooked as him. Unfortunately for him the American Idol humiliation, richly deserved, is likely to be it.
For those who have yet to deal with dean-anthony… brace yourself. He’s now in New York and has a play (…ugh) that he’ll tell you is coming to an off-b’way house. Or at least that’s what he says, though the opening date gets pushed back further and further and he’d prefer to have you do all the work yourself with a deferred payment until the play turns a profit on its journey to Broadway! Whatever you have to tell people to try and get them to work for you for free.
As someone who smelled the lies from the first meeting, went through the motions, shared some preliminary ideas for said play (…again, UGH), refused to do real work without some form of a contract and thus never heard a peep from him or “his people” again, only to recently find my replacement touting sketches eerily and uncannily similar to my own early doodles for this pirate, I can honestly say I’m glad to have been so skeptical as to not be working – probably or free – with him further and I’m tempted to warn the replacement about it all, too. Or at least send the poor guy a link here.
By far, the most impressive thread in working with him was the constant reminder that he is the established creative genius in the room and it’s my job to intermittently remind him why I should have the chance to be graced by his presence and given ‘such a big opportunity’ to work for free and pander to his unfounded narcissism. You know the phrase “if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck… “? Replace “duck” with “egotistical fraud” and it still works here, albeit a much scarier consequence.

Yeah, I think I took all of three meetings with him including sitting in on a sloppy casting session… don’t know what came of those actors’ efforts. I just had to see what the whole mess was about and it was scary. I found him on craigslist, yes, under the creative or crew gigs section. The post was laced with what I now know to be his typical wordy, grease-tongued and occasionally made-up-word sheen.
And frankly, bradford needs to not be in NYC, LA or anywhere else where young, genuine, eager people with a nearly unlimited optimism are around to be preyed upon. It’s hard enough to find legitimate work around here without wasting time on these kinds of selfish users.

Hey, creeper, I could send you his “scripts” I too met with dean-anthony, twice to be exact before I realized that things were getting fishy. His “play”, which he claimed to have written in three days is supposed to be on a stage by now, off of what he told me. And his “film” was supposed to be in production this month. Of course he also told me that Vanessa Williams was very interested. I realized soon that whenever I asked to meet with who ever else was working there they were conveniently unavailable or not around. I was promised money, but he would never produce a contract or get into the particulars of a payment plan. Then when I was supposed to start pre-production for the film I wanted to know what the budget was and other general questions and he refused to tell me anything. How could I do pre-production without any knowledge of what I’m doing. Finally I decided to do some research and found all the other people burned by him. I basically just distanced myself and he hasn’t contact me since. I was also e-mailed by “Bryan” and found it strange the first time meeting him that he acted like he e-mailed me and never acknowledged that other people were contacting me, most likely cause it was all him.

Ok, so he was pulling this same crap in NYC in 2004. Yes 2004. He had a musical that he said was going to be on Broadway. A whole cast was put togther and we did a reading. We were promised(contracts were signed) to be in this Broadway production. Of course none of us got paid, he lied about every single thing he promised the cast. If you are an actor, struggling in NYC to get parts, it may seem very promising to get hooked up with Dean Anthony, but its not. You will be very disappointed. Take it from someone who has been there done that with Dean Anthony. Stay clear, you will be glad you did.

please keep this thread alive forever. this guy is a super creeper who is breaking the law in several states at once. he steals people’s identities, writes fake emails, bad checks, commissions freelancers for work and never pays. sadly it’s very hard to take him to court. this thread’s high visibility is one of the only beacons of truth about him on the internet.
